The website provides an audit with questions covering 10 topics which can help to identify areas for improvement and gives the students an understanding of what they can achieve.

Count your carbon

It is a good idea to begin by measuring the current carbon footprint of your school to identify key areas to focus on for improvement and potentially easy-wins.

Count your Carbon by Eco-Schools provides an in-depth audit which will require information to be supplied by the business manager and senior members of staff. The audit can take up to three hours to complete. Once completed, you will receive a report and guidance to complete a carbon action planner.

Here’s a quick link to their step by step guide and a list of the audit questions.
